SPD cleat with Multi-Direction Entry for easier engagement
Designed for aggressive trail riders - where quickly clipping into your pedals is imperative - and everyday or new riders who prefer a simpler and faster engagement every time, SHIMANO’s CL-MT001 cleats provide multi-directional entry for easier engagement no matter the situation. The cleats allow for three distinct clip-in motions: traditional front first then rear, stomp straight down, or rear first then front.
What does single release mean?
Single-release in the context of the SPD Single-Release Cleat means that the cleat is designed to allow the rider to disengage or "release" their foot from the pedal by twisting the foot in one direction only. This is in contrast to dual-release cleats, which allow release by twisting the foot in either direction. Single-release cleats provide a secure connection to the pedal while still allowing the rider to quickly and easily disengage when needed by twisting the foot outward at a specific angle (in this case, a 13-degree clip-out angle). This feature is particularly useful for mountain biking and indoor cycling where quick release is important for safety and control.
